Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, Owner of SpaceX, has an interesting strategy for filtering out liars when interviewing candidates (and it’s backed by science).
Musk doesn’t care what school (or business school) you attended, he’s looking for evidence of “exceptional abilities and achievements”.
When Musk interviews candidates he asks them this question:
“Tell me about some of the most difficult problems you worked on and how you solved them.”
His reasoning is that, people who were REALLY responsible for the problem & solution will know intimate details of how it was done.
Those who didn’t really have any part in it would only have superficial information and vague information about the situation.
