4 Things Facebook’s CMO Shared On True Leadership

Falon Fatemi of Node sat down with Facebook CMO Gary Briggs at Revenue Summit 2017. Briggs shared four ideas to help business leaders cultivate young talent to become their companies’ future leaders:

1. Build trust

Employees should feel supported to both s\ucceed and to learn from mistakes. Trust enhances communication and enables leadership to target problems before they arise.

2. Use emotional intelligence

Give people full attention, and try to see things from their viewpoint. Pick up on body language and vocal cues. Take time to reflect before making decisions.

3. Mentorship is important

Employees are drawn to and are retained by companies that invest in their continuing education.

4. Customize design

Make employees feel directly invested in the success and vision of the company by making them understand how their contributions fit in.

Key Takeaways:

  • Today’s top representatives will never progress toward becoming pioneers tomorrow in the event that they escape when the going gets hard.
