The semiconductor chip shortage has been well documented, but now is a great time to be in the semiconductor business.
Why?
Countries around the world are taking notice of the chip shortage and are clamoring over themselves to attract chip manufacturers to build factories in their country and mitigate against future chip shortages.
Semiconductor companies that plan to open factories in Taiwan, the Taiwanese government will cover up to 50% of the cost of purchasing land and building construction. They’ll also cover 25% of the equipment costs.
For companies that open a factory in Singapore, the Singapore government will subsidise the operations up to 25%.
China’s government is on track to spend as much as $200 billion to subsidize semiconductor companies through 2025.
