Mike Gamson, LinkedIn’s senior vice president of global solutions was asked why women weren’t represented at LinkedIn. This caused him to consider why he hired executives who acted, looked, and thought like him. To remedy the issue he partnered with female employees to launch WiN (Women’s Initiative) at LinkedIn. He then began to rethinking talent acquisition, focus on developing women from within the company, and instated unconscious-bias training. AS of 2016 female representation has gone up 10% since WiN was launched in 2014.
