An ex-Apple recruiter says there’s an unexpected dark side to hiring for ‘culture fit’

Hiring practices in certain companies have caused a problem with certain companies and produced a mono-culture which is too homogenized according to one source who hired within a corporate culture. The culture fit phenomenon amounts to unconscious bias and an environment where everyone works, acts and behaves the same and squelches diversity by creating an unfriendly environment of friends and “bros”. Hiring by inexperienced members who look for friends and play mates as opposed to considering work place diversity furthers a stagnation with the problem.
