BRICS Making New Friends
The emerging market coalition known as BRICS, is expanding its membership to six new countries: Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Saudia Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) effective 1st January 2024.
Of the six countries that were extended invitations to join, there were a total of twenty-three applications to join.
The newly expanded coalition will account for 37% of the world’s GDP and retain its BRICS acronym.

The disenfranchised sandwich franchise has finally found a suitor in Roark Capital.
The US sandwich chain is being sold for $9 billion to Roark Capital Group, who beat out others such as TDR Capital and Sycamore Partners.
