Public perception goes a long way. Take for example today’s article on the desk. It seems like an inconspicuous thing. A thing that is found in everyone’s office. Yet, the way it is organized, or the lack thereof, can convey a message. People look at your desk, and the desks of other leaders, and they draw conclusions. They draw conclusions on who you are, what you do and how you do it.
This is true not just of our desk, but of us as, well. The way we carry ourselves in public certainly conveys a message, or better yet, messages. This is one thing we have to be careful of as well as conscious about. Your walk, your dress and your other mannerisms. They all convey those messages to people.
Sometimes these messages will be true. At other times, they will be blown out of proportion. Regardless, they will always speak. Take some time to consider your mannerisms and what messages they may convey. It may just mean the difference between your next big deal or your next big bust.
