Being the leader of a company can be an incredibly lonely position. You are responsible for a lot of decisions that are not always the most liked. Of course there are the issues of hiring and firing people, which everyone has an opinion about. And these are commonly understood to be quite divisive.
But then there are other issues that will drive people away. The general direction of the company as you lead it. There will always be people who second guess such things.

Do you know one of the biggest things that can turn your employees away from you? The idea in their hearts and heads that they do not have a voice in your company.
Head such thinking off at the pass by getting out there and talking to your employees. Let them know that their voice can be heard and that you are listening. This will go a very long way in the general feel and ethos of the company.
