Facial recognition has been a point of discussion in terms of implementing A.I. in the real world. However, banks are seeing the benefits of A.I. in real world use-cases.
For example, some banks are already testing out camera software leveraging A.I. to monitor staff, recognize and authenticate client identities, spot people sleeping near ATM’s (as ATM’s are common places for people to use as shelter).
In some tests, banks have confirmed facial recognition A.I. has helped in preventing fraud.
Of course with the use of facial recognition, the dilemma of data privacy and civil liberties rises in terms of how it’s used.
In any case, it will be interesting to see how things progress and whether people will get used to the increased use of facial recognition.
