Fast fashion retailer, Boohoo, via Retail Brew, is in hot water after an audit of their supply chain.
The audit found Boohoo’s suppliers were guilty of paying lower than minimum wages and having their workers work in unsafe conditions.
The lack of enforcement of standards & governance over their suppliers resulted in them being booted off Amazon and other online marketplaces.
Lesson: don’t wait for an independent audit before you do your own internal audit of your suppliers.
