Public speaking.
It can be a person’s worst nightmare. For some people, they may end up awake at night fearing the moment that is about to come when they need to take that stage and speak. Why is it so nerve wracking? For one thing, it is very revealing. In many ways, people may feel exposed when they need to stand in front of a crowd and do public speaking. For this reason, many people may shun it.
However, there’s a problem with this. As a CEO of a company, you may not have the luxury of being able to shun such speaking. It is part and parcel with the job. You are expected to speak at board meetings, public offering meetings and at newscasts and press junkets in general.
With all of the speaking that is expected of you, it truly is unavoidable. So instead of staring at the ceiling at night and dreading that inevitable aspect of your leadership, it’s time to get a handle on it and learn to do it effectively.
