If you are laying stress on your employees, than new research says that it’s going to backfire. Why do we typically place that stress on them? We think it will motivate them to move faster, work harder, dig deeper.
But in fact, just the opposite seems to be happening. Instead of striving to do a better job, most employees are opting to leave from what they call a “stressful and hostile work environment.” Stress may not be the key to your motivation tactics.
Instead, incentive programs, treating the employees as hard, honest workers, and providing a breakroom have all proven to be motivations in employees to work harder.
As you lead your company, you may want to rethink more how you are leading your employees.
