You’ve heard before that sitting can cause increased risk of heart disease along with a whole list of other issues, correct?
It is true. Sitting at a desk is one of the worst things that you can do all day. It leads to added weight gain, diabetes, high blood pressure and digestive issues.
You know that it’s bad. And you do your best to get yourself up and out of that chair to move around. But do your employees know that it is bad as well? What sort of measures are you proactively taking to get them up and moving?
This measure might be the very difference people are looking for when it comes to what company they choose to work for. Remember, work environment and culture becomes a very big issue in this generation of worker.
One thing you can do to have a positive impact, then, on your workplace is to have company wide breaks and exercise times in addition to the regular, personal breaks you give your employees. Perhaps a mandatory 15 minute stretch and move time might be exactly what they need and are looking for.
Remember, they will appreciate it and you just may be saving a life.
