While most entrepreneurs of today focus on creating an excellent business model. While this is certainly important, it causes many to forget about the significance of what’s referred to as a “mental model.” The airline industry exemplifies the dangers of this perfectly. The mental model of Southwest, which was more directed at its customers, allowed it to s\ucceed in areas where traditional airlines did not. When they attempted to copy Southwest’s platform, they forgot about its central mentality, and thus failed, as in the case of JetBlue. Similar narratives occur with Amazon and Tesla copycats. Without prioritizing the mental model of their business, entrepreneurs will not s\ucceed.
