Uber supposedly “disrupted” (I hate that word) the taxi & transportation industry.
So, it’s not surprising they also have a logistics/freight division.
According to Morning Brew, Greenbriar Equity Group invested $500 Million into the freight division.
Apparently the freight division is growing quite nicely (at 27% growth).
What exactly do they do?
The app matches & connects shippers with long-haul truckers. (Makes sense).
Will it become a big player and “disrupt” the logistics industry? Hard to say.
Similar to Tesla, Uber has also been working on autonomous vehicles (see Tesla’s autonomous driving trucks).
I’d say that will be the bigger disrupter in the near future.
