A Banyan tree is one of the oldest and largest trees in the world with some in India being over 200 years old. These trees have vast canopies that can be up to 19,000 square meters. Naturally these trees have been the symbol of magnificence and beauty, as well as power. But the author Vivek Bapat argues that a small dandelion would be a better metaphor for a leader rather than a mighty Banyan tree. He cites the fact that the Banyan tree is hollow, and very resource intensive, whereas a dandelion is a fighter, and can grow with the slightest amount of resources in almost any location. That is to be admired and compared to a good leader.
