Winning Arguments

For better or worse, arguments are what we are all about. Arguments are oftentimes what push and advance our businesses forward.

Whether the argument descends into raised voices or not does not determine whether one was in an argument. When two or more people come together to have a discussion, and there is a disagreement over the terms, and one is not willing nor ready to concede to the other…well, then…you have the makings of an argument.

So, the question for us today: How do you win your arguments?

Well, there are a few ways you can do this. You can be the brow beater sort of CEO who invokes position and office over the other person. This is sort of the same thing as saying, “This is what I want so this what you’ll do.”

But who wants to follow a leader like that? I’ll tell you, not many people.

Rather, instead what must be done these days is to take the time to convince the other person of your side. Use the facts and knowledge you have about the topic and work on bringing that person to your side and perspective. What you want to do is make people see things from where you stand.
