The Swiss bank, Credit Suisse, now has the notorious distinction of being the first domestic bank to ever been found guilty of a corporate crime by Swiss authorities.
The crime?
The Swiss bank was found guilty of failing to stop money laundering by a Bulgarian crime ring.
Many banks have been under scrutiny for failing in their anti-money laundering practices, so it’s not something new.
But you would think they would be more serious despite the hefty fines.
