Unwanted gifts can cause awkward problems. Issues such as showing gratitude while trying to return it can be an issue, it’s like a well meaning person handing you a puppy as a gift. As a leader in business you need to stop “giving puppies” to your employees. You need to understand your employees values and find out whether they share yours or not. If you still give accolades that are like puppies, make sure they will be well received by grateful employees.
