News today that NetFlix is going to co-produce a sequel to the hit movie, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. You may remember the Weinstein Co. produced movie that was an international hit many years ago. Now the film streaming giant is partnering with the Weinsteins to bring another chapter of the story to the big screen.
Why is this so important? Up until recently, the dvd/streaming giant has been known for just that: bringing already produced movies to renters worldwide. But now with a number of original programming being produced by them, it’s no surprise that their next foray would be into that of a major motion picture.
Look at what NetFlix has become in a few short years. They took an idea, and they made it a vision…it evolved from one thing into another. They grew it, nurtured it and worked it to completion. Now, where they stand today, is not where they originally began.
