Seeing Eye to Eye

Recently, The New Yorker launched a complete redesign of its website and mobile platform. It did so with the user in mind, and aimed to draw even more new users into subscription by presenting to them, well…what they wanted to see.

Fast Company has the interview for us that details the three things that went into this overhaul. Not only were things like the “under the hood” aspects considered (like a refresh of its content management system), but even certain “minute” details like font style and presentation. You see, the New Yorker had in mind the eye of the beholder, and they were looking to captivate that eye by not only understanding the beholder, but giving him what he wants to see.

Do you have the eye of your own customer base in mind when you market towards them? Yes, we want to market our product…but we also want to package it in a manner that they want to see. They want to see why it’s important to them. They want to see how they can use it. And you have to show them.

So, are you seeing eye to eye?
